Orosei is the quintessential tourist destination in the whole area, and it not surprisingly has the best beaches on the island, with light-coloured sand and crystal-clear water. It is the perfect place to enjoy the sea in Sardinia. Starting from the main beach, the Marina di Orosei, which extends on an area of 2 kilometres, making it possible to enjoy a quiet and intimate day at the sea even in high season, it is the closest beach to the town, offering many services and is a destination for windsurfers and kitesurfers who enjoy the waves on windy days.
A couple of kilometres from the town the beach of Su Barone is located, inhabited by grey herons and offering an uncontaminated landscape between the golden beach and the deep turquoise sea. On the border of Cala Osalla in Dorgali a beach with the same name can be found, which is part of the Orosa territory. If, on the other hand, you decide to move to the other side, taking the SS 125 you will reach other beautiful beaches, starting with Sas Linnas Siccas, immersed in the Mediterranean scrub and excellent for sheltering and enjoying the sea even on windy days. A little further Cala Liberotto can be found, consisting of small bays bordering the pine forest, where you can enjoy acrobatic dives from the granite rocks or immerse into a seabed, perfect for snorkelling and fishing enthusiasts, all the way to Cala Ginepro, which takes its name from the numerous junipers on the beach, and Sa Curcurica, which is named after the dialect word for moorhen, and which, being very close by and a part of the Bidderosa natural park, offers breathtaking views enriched by possible sightings of flamingos, herons and ospreys.
